Edward Jackson

Edward joined MARCOM in August 2011 after retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard.  During his 21 years in the Coast Guard, Edward held a variety of Marine Safety positions. 

From 1992 to 2001, Edward conducted safety inspections of bulk oil & chemical facilities, hazardous material freight container shipments, explosive load shipments, as well as conducting oil & chemical spill investigations and supervising their cleanups. 

Since 2001, Edward has conducted construction oversight and regulatory inspections of Towing Vessels, Tank Barges, Passenger Vessels, Offshore Supply Vessels, Lift boats, Foreign Flagged Freight Ships, Foreign Flagged Tank Ships, and is well versed in the Tank Barge Streamlined Inspection Program (TBSIP), the Streamlined Inspection Program (SIP) for Offshore Supply Vessels and Crewboats, the Alternate Compliance Program (ACP), the MTSA/ISPS requirements, and the Towing Vessel Bridging Program which is helping to prepare the towing industry for future inspections under U.S. Coast Guard Subchapter “M”.

Edward is an accredited Category 3 SIRE inspector and is a certificated ISM Lead Auditor. Edward will conduct SIRE inspections on inland and offshore chemical and oil carrying barges, inland and offshore towing/pushing vessels as well as ATB units.
