Ray Ball
Ray joined MARCOM in August of 2016 after retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer. During his 26+ year Coast Guard career, Ray has been assigned Marine Safety Offices and Units in Louisiana and Texas. Ray has over 23 years’ experience in the Marine Safety field, which included conducting thousands of safety and security inspections on U.S. and Foreign vessels, pollution investigations, marine casualty investigations, explosive load outs, container inspections, pollution investigations as a pollution investigator, port state control inspections on foreign freight and tank vessels. Ray has managed millions of dollars of Federal Funds to remove pollution from the Gulf coast waters as a federal on-scene coordinator. Ray was vital member of the Coast Guard ensuring the tow vessel industry was educated in the Coast Guard’s Subchapter ‘M’ Bridging Program while achieving 100% compliance for his unit’s area of responsibility. Ray is based in the Houston, TX area. Ray is an accredited Category 3 SIRE inspector and is a certificated ISM Lead Auditor. Ray will conduct SIRE inspections on inland and offshore chemical and oil carrying barges, inland and offshore towing/pushing vessels as well as ATB units.
