Tim Shouse

Tim joined MARCOM in 2020 after retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer. During his 26+ year Coast Guard career, Tim held numerous Marine Safety positions, qualifications and certifications. Tim has over 16 years’ experience in Western Rivers vessel operations gained during tours in Peoria, IL, Huntington, WV, St. Louis, MO and Louisville, KY where he conducted vessel inspections, marine casualty investigations and bulk oil and chemical terminal inspections. Tim performed new construction survey, marine repair oversight and regulatory inspections on over 500 U.S. tank barges, passenger vessels and towing vessels annually. Tim is well versed in the Tank Barge Streamlined Inspection Program (TBSIP), Subchapter M and Alternate Compliance Program (ACP). As the lead CG unit TBSIP liaison, Tim provided program oversight to a large vessel operator ensuring effective program management of over 400 TBSIP vessels. Tim is an accredited Category 3 SIRE inspector and is based out of Louisville, KY. Tim will conduct SIRE inspections on inland and offshore chemical and oil carrying barges, inland and offshore towing/pushing vessels as well as ATB units.
